Three Simple Tips for People Who Want to Hire Dictation Services

Comments Off

There are several reasons why people use dictation services. And among
the most important benefits of dictation services is that it is a means
of outsourcing work related to reports and correspondence. Of course,
before you can start taking advantage of these services, you will first
need to think about certain issues related to this type of work. So to
help you get started, here are several tips that you should consider if
you plan to hire their services:

Offer Clear Formatting Instructions – Before you hire anyone, be sure to
tell them how you want things set up. For example, you could point out
which parts of the transcript should have capital letters, and which
parts should be underlined. Bullet points, numbers and capitalization
should also be given attention prior to the actual work. In providing
these instructions early on, you will be able to make sure that there
are no problems or confusions when the actual work begins.

Don’t Forget About Hardware Issues – Hiring a dictation professional is
not always a matter of finding the right set of skills. In some cases,
it can also be about the hardware that you plan to use. Remember that
every word and every moment counts to a transcriptionist, and avoiding
mistakes is often critical. So remember that headsets, microphones and
secure connections can be just as important as the skills of your
transcriptionist.

Remember That Dictation Service Providers Aren’t Perfect - It’s
important to remember that with a transcriptionist, you get what you put
in. So if you want professional transcription services then you will
need to provide great dictation. This isn’t always an easy thing to do,
especially if you’re not used to this type of work, but you can consult
with your transcriptionist to remedy this problem. Once you have gotten
the hang of things, the whole process will become easier, and it is then
that you will be able to use transcriptionist services to full effect.

A Brief History of the U.S. Nickel Coin

Comments Off

Nickels are an American nickel plated coin that have been in usage since 1866. The value is five cents or 1/20 of a U.S. dollar. The front of the nickel shows a side-facing portrait of President Thomas Jefferson, while the reverse shows Jefferson’s home, Monticello.

Modern nickels are not fully nickel; they are only nickel plated – the vast majority (75%) of a nickel is now composed of copper. The composite of the two metals is required so make nickels cheap enough to produce. If nickels were made without the infusion of copper, they would be twice or thrice as expensive to produce as they are worth as currency.

Nickels, ever decreasing as practical currency in an electronic age, had a face-lift in 2006 to raise aesthetic value and make them more desirable to use. The new design still retained a portrait of President Jefferson, but this time he faces forward. Interestingly, this is the first coin to feature a president facing forward. Monticello is still on the reverse of the coin and they still retain the same nickel plated sheen.

Canada also has a nickel coin worth five cents, but it was not used as currency until 1922.
